6. Grow a Wild Space in a Pot for Butterflies and Moths

Even small spaces can become havens for butterflies and moths. Grow plants in pots on your patio, balcony, or doorstep. Here are some child-friendly options:

  • Nasturtium: Easy to grow with bright flowers. The leaves attract caterpillars of the Large and Small White butterfly.
  • Herbs: Chives, Marjoram, Thyme, and Bergamot are great for pots and loved by insects.
  • Salvia: Attractive and available in various sizes and colours, perfect for pollinators.
