This national competition seems a very cool idea to get kids engaged in creative activities during half term. My son is already very excited to have the opportunity to show off his engineering skills at work 🙂
To celebrate its 120th birthday this year, Tower Bridge, the most famous bridge in the world, is delighted to announce the launch of an exciting new national competition for 6 to 14 year olds, offering them the opportunity to design the second most famous bridge in the world! Check the entry details here.

Parents always wonder how they can keep their children involved in educational activities over the school holidays or even throughout the school term.
The more involved everyone gets the less likely you’re chlid will feel like they are being punished or being treated differently. Using expressions like “it’s time to work on”, or “you’re not working hard enough” will cause your child to back off and want nothing to do with your projects.

Both books celebrate the power of the child’s imagination: in ‘Skellig’, Mina learns about life through William Blake’s angels and baby blackbirds while in ‘Maggot Moon’ Standish Treadwell fights the regime with dreams of a better world.
