2017 will be remembered as the year of Illumination, the filmmakers behind Sing and the Despicable Me franchise. Despicable Me 3 continues the adventurous story of Gru, Lucy, their adorable daughters — Margo, Edith and Agnes — and of course the Minions. It is the best film in the franchise so far. Parents will particularly love the latest villain Balthazar Bratt for his passion for Eighties’ music and dance. Unmissable!

Transformers – The Last Knight, the fifth installment of the Transformers series by Paramount, reunites director Michael Bay with Mark Wahlberg, Josh Duhamel, Tyrese Gibson and Peter Cullen, who will once again voice Autobot leader Optimus Prime. Additions to the cast include Laura Haddock, Santiago Cabrera, Isabela Moner, Jerrod Carmichael and Anthony Hopkins. Think of Fast and Furious meets Star Wars meets The Avengers mixed it with King Arthur and you have an idea, or maybe you don’t.

To celebrate Father’s Day this weekend, I am taking a look at ten films to watch with dad. Yes kids’ movies are great for putting on when you need to make dinner, do some work or simply some peace and quiet, but sometimes we can’t help in joining our kids on the sofa. So many kids films are full of adult inside jokes or fun Easter eggs that only parents will pick up on, meaning they’re perfect for kids and parents alike. So grab the chocolate, get on the comfies and binge on this lot!
