Marvel’s Captain America – Civil War, releases in UK cinemas on 29th April 2016. In the latest Marvel superheroes’ instalment, the United Nations intervenes to set up a governing body to oversee the Avengers. The team splinters into two camps — one led by Steve Rogers and his desire for the Avengers to remain free to defend humanity without government interference, and the other following Tony Stark’s surprising decision to support government oversight and accountability.

Film Review: Bastille Day starring Idris Elba

Idris Elba is positively ubiquitous – at the moment, anyway. The voice of Chief Bogo in Zootropolis, he’s also the menacing Shere Khan in The Jungle Book and he’s been opening up to the press about playing the villain Krall in Star Trek Beyond, due out in July. For now, though, we have to settle for him playing an action role in Bastille Day, released on Friday, 22 April, certificate 15.

Talking Pictures: The Jungle Book Swings In!

It’s an amazing week at the cinema – and on Talking Pictures!  London Mums’ resident film critic, Freda Cooper, takes a look at Disney’s live action version of  The Jungle Book and its director Jon Favreau talks about re-making a classic in The Big Interview.  Military thriller Eye In The Sky is also out and Helen Mirren pays tribute her co-star, Alan Rickman.

The DVD line-up includes David Lean’s The Sound Barrier, released in 1952 but on DVD for the very first time, and Tim Roth as a home care nurse in Chronic.
