2016 marks the 100th anniversary of Dahl’s birth and to celebrate one of the most creative authors of all times, there will be a movie release in the Summer. From the minds of two of the world’s greatest storytellers – Roald Dahl and Steven Spielberg – THE BFG will see a UK release on 22 July 2016. 

The Big Friendly Giant  will be impersonated by Academy Award winner Mark Rylance and his unlikely friend Sophie  by newcomer Ruby Barnhill.

Film review: Zootropolis – Top Ten reasons to love this Disney comedy animation

Zootropolis is by far the best comedy animation of the last 10 or even 20 years. It gets full marks 10/10 from both London Mums and London Kids Club. Even the Dads from our network attending the special screening showed extremely positive reactions to this wonderful film. Zootropolis is one of those movies you want to watch over and over again to spot all the little details that you would have missed at the first viewing. It is full of funny little details that are there but not on your face, therefore only visible to a careful looker such as the iPhone for rabbits which has a carrot instead of an apple on the back (iCarrot) or the iPaw which is the animal equivalent to the iPad for humans. This is exactly what makes Disney so special compared to many other film productions. Read further for my top ten reasons why I think Zootropolis is one of the best comedy animations of all times.

Film Awards: BAFTA Predictions

The 2016 awards season seems to have been going on for ever, but the end is in sight. The Oscars take place at the end of the month, but first come the BAFTAs, on Sunday evening. London Mums’ resident film critic, Freda Cooper, gets out her crystal ball to find out who’ll be feeling the love on Valentine’s Day – and who’ll be left out on the cold.
