A Wrinkle in Time is Disney’s latest feature film that celebrates female empowerment and diversity and calls for everyone to be ‘warriors who serve the good and light in the universe’ and protect peace and happiness against evil forces such as envy and jealousy that threaten the world. A Wrinkle in Time’s screenplay is Ava DuVernay’s adaptation of Madeleine L’Engle’s award-winning timeless classic young adult fantasy novel, which was first published in 1962.

2018 is a special year for women: 100 years have passed since women were first allowed to vote in the UK, but we still have a long way to go towards gender equality. There’s lots going on in the world including the campaign for equal pay and the Time’s up campaign driven by Hollywood actresses and other TV personalities to shout out about women’s rights.

Finally I have managed to get the DVD of Earth: One Amazing Day made by BBC Earth Films, the studio that produced Earth. My son Diego and I absolutely love watching clips at breakfast before the school run. It is an astonishing journey revealing the power of the natural world. If you enjoyed the BBC Earth documentaries and Deep Blue you will love this. Read my review of Earth: One Amazing Day here. The photography is breathtaking and Robert Redford as the narrator is superb! It’s a must see documentary for all children and government leaders. After seeing the beautiful Blue Planet, there should be a sequel documentary to show how humans are destroying its marvels.
