The best animated films of the last 10 years

If the past few years have proved anything, it is that the popularity for animated storytelling is dramatically increasing. Films like Minions and Inside Out were some of the highest grossing films of 2015, highlighting viewers desire to see original animated movies. The anticipated DVD release of Altitude’s Rock Dog seems to be following this ever growing trend. Starring Luke Wilson, Eddie Izzard and J.K Simmons, Rock Dog is a great family friendly story that explores the journey of Bodi (Luke Wilson), a Tibetan Mastiff who stumbles across a radio falling from the sky. After becoming inspired by rock legend Angus Scattergood (Eddie Izzard), he leaves home to fulfil his dream of becoming a musician, setting into motion a series of completely unexpected events. To celebrate the DVD release of Rock Dog on 16th October 2017, we’ve had a look back at some of the best animated films of the past 10 years.

New Marvel’s Spider-Man series on Disney XD brings the original comics alive

The brand new Marvel’s Spider-Man series is airing every Saturday at 8:30am on Disney XD. Officially it is aimed at young boys aged 6-14 but I actually like it as well as it reminds me to the comics and the original cartoons based on the print comics which I used to read and watch back in the Eighties.

Film Review: Loving Vincent – the world’s first fully painted feature film

I have never seen an animated movie like Loving Vincent before. It is in fact the world’s first fully painted feature film about the last few weeks of Vincent Van Gogh’s life and death as told by his paintings and by the characters that inhabit them. Loving Vincent is an enchanting and innovative film which even 10+ kids should watch. It will be released in UK cinemas on 13 October 2017.
