Think twice before citing adultery in divorce proceedings
Aug 25 2013The wife of celebrity cake baker Paul Hollywood is reported to be in the process of petitioning for divorce on the basis of his adultery, after 15 years of marriage.
There is only one ground for divorce in England and Wales and that is that the marriage has broken down irretrievably. However the petitioner must prove one of five facts as evidence of irretrievable breakdown.
A mother’s stress during pregnancy can cause depression in children
Aug 24 2013Stress hormones can be passed from mother to unborn child, potentially causing anxiety and depression in later life, according to research from the University of Edinburgh. The study uncovers the part of the placenta responsible for protecting a foetus from stress. (as read in the science news digest July 2013 available from the British Science Association.

The Rule of Thirds Photography Basics Composition
Aug 21 2013When considering the rules of photographic composition one of the most well known of them all is the rule of thirds. This theory of composition is not by any means new and the term dates back to John Thomas Smith’s 1797 book Remarks on Rural Scenery where he discussed the the balance of dark and light in a painting.
If you want to begin to take and compose well balanced images then an understanding of the principles behind the rule of thirds is essential.
Rules of course are made to be broken and not every great image will adhere to these basic fundamentals but if you are going to break the rules then at least know what they are.
