Film review: Disney’s Moana 2 – An empowering sea-faring adventure worth the wait

Last night, London Mums Magazine’s team of teen and mum reporters were invited by Disney to a special screening of the long-anticipated Moana 2 in London. Eight years after the original film stole our hearts, the legendary heroine returns and Disney’s latest offering proves to be a worthy sequel, brimming with adventure, emotion, and vibrant animation.

The 2016 release of Moana introduced audiences to the fearless Polynesian heroine, Moana, whose daring quest to save her island and discover her true destiny resonated across all ages and genders. The original film became an instant classic, celebrated for its inspiring narrative, heartfelt music, and stunning visuals. Fast forward to 2024, and Moana 2 not only lives up to its predecessor but also expands the story in bold and exciting ways.

Autumnal Afternoon Tea at Straits Kitchen, located in Pan Pacific London – review

On Sunday, 20th October 2024, London Mums Magazine and our Kids Club reporters had the pleasure of attending an Autumnal Afternoon Tea at the elegant Straits Kitchen, located on the first floor of the Pan Pacific London in the heart of the City of London.

Afternoon tea is my favourite mealtime – it’s the perfect break from the standard lunch or dinner, and it’s usually substantial enough to become the main event of the day without the heaviness of a full meal. Straits Kitchen’s reputation intrigued me, as did their child-friendly menu that includes a playful biscuit-decorating activity after the classic sandwiches. For an afternoon out with my daughter, it seemed an ideal blend of sophistication and fun.

Now, if you’ve been living under a rock (or maybe just avoiding the Marvel universe), let’s get you up to speed: Venom has been on quite the journey, featuring in four films to date, including the original Venom and Venom: Let There Be Carnage, not to mention a cheeky cameo in Spider-Man: No Way Home. Venom: The Last Dance is out in UK cinemas on 25 October 2024.
