Film review: Avatar: The Way of Water

The 13-year wait is over.  Avatar: The Way of Water, the sequel to Avatar and the second instalment of the Avatar trilogy, is visually spectacular and out in cinemas on 16 December 2022.

The story

Avatar: The Way of Water is set more than a decade after the events of the first film. It begins to tell the story of the Sully family (Jake, Neytiri, and their kids), the trouble that follows them, the lengths they go to keep each other safe, the battles they fight to stay alive, and the tragedies they endure.

The verdict

Avatar fans have waited over ten years for James Cameron’s long-in-the-making sequel to his own record box-office fantasy epic, Avatar The Way Of Water.

The film is visually breathtaking and incredibly engrossing. The story, the spectacle, the spirituality, the beauty – this is movie making and storytelling at its absolute finest.

Without giving too much away, Jake & Neytiri leave the forest to seek sanctuary with the water tribe. Kate Winslet plays the leader of the water tribe.

While watching the movie with my popcorn and 3d glasses on, I felt like I could touch things in the movie.

It’s fair to say it got thumbs up from London Mums Magazine, had a slow start, big build, cool creatures and an hour of screamingly good.  Avatar logo
