A new way to celebrate your body: The female entrepreneur turning precious moments into 3D Art

Every pregnancy is a story in itself – personal, beautiful, fleeting. And for London-based female entrepreneur Laura Cope, capturing these once-in-a-lifetime moments isn’t just a business idea; it’s a deeply sentimental mission. Through her brand, Form 3D Studio, Laura creates bespoke 3D sculptures that celebrate the human body in all its uniqueness,  specialising in pregnancy sculptures. Her pieces aren’t simply keepsakes – they are works of art that honour a moment in time you can never fully get back, yet now can hold forever.

What makes Form 3D Studio so compelling is Laura herself: warm, reassuring, deeply thoughtful… and wonderfully sentimental. “I’m the sort of person who keeps train tickets, shells, photos, and little scraps of life,” she laughs. “Memories matter. So being able to create something so meaningful for other people genuinely brings me joy.”

Originally from Essex and now living in East London with her husband Peter and their two mischievous cats, Laura spent years working in resource and project management. It was a rewarding career, but something tugged at her – a desire to create something more personal, more expressive. Now pregnant with her first child, that pull has deepened into a sharper awareness of just how significant this chapter of life truly is, heightening her instinct to build something meaningful and lasting. That spark finally ignited when she saw Peter’s architectural 3D printing work. The combination of craft, technology and storytelling stirred something powerful.

With a leap of faith, support from her loved ones, and a self-taught crash course in 3D modelling and printing, Form 3D Studio was born. Today, Laura’s studio is already becoming a favourite among expectant mums who want an artistic, intimate, empowering way to celebrate their changing bodies.

One of the things readers will appreciate is just how much care goes into each appointment. For many mums-to-be, baring your bump – or your body – can feel a little daunting. Laura understands this completely.

“You absolutely do not need to be naked,” she emphasises. “Your comfort and confidence come first. This is an empowering moment, and you choose exactly how you’d like to present yourself.”

Appointments last around an hour, starting with a warm, reassuring consultation. The scan itself takes about 3 minutes and is a contact free, non-intrusive process – completely safe for both mother and baby, and classified under the highest safety standards. Customers often bring along a partner, friend or family member, turning it into a special shared experience.

And for those hoping Laura might pop over with her scanner? She happily offers home visits across London and South Essex, depending on location. In true London Mums fashion: if she can make it work, she will.

One of Laura’s missions is spreading body positivity. “Pregnancy is extraordinary, but you don’t need to be pregnant to celebrate yourself,” she says. “Everyone deserves the chance to see their body as art.”

Whether it’s marking a milestone, honouring a personal journey, celebrating fitness achievements, or simply wanting a unique portrait of yourself, Laura welcomes all. (Pets, sadly, are off the cards for now – but knowing her curiosity, that may one day change.)

After the scan, customers can choose their preferred sculpture size and finish from Laura’s beautiful samples. Files are archived securely for 12 months, just in case you’d like a duplicate or replacement later on.

Clients regularly describe the experience as surprisingly emotional – a moment of connection with themselves and their changing bodies. As Lorna from London said, “It was so cool actually spending time looking at my bump.” Another mum, Tasha from Essex, shared, “I was a little nervous beforehand but had absolutely nothing to worry about. It was the loveliest experience.”

What sets Form 3D Studio apart isn’t only the technology or the artistry – it’s Laura’s genuine care. She knows how precious this time is. She knows how quickly it passes. And she knows how empowering it is when someone reflects back your beauty with kindness and artistry.

A wife, an auntie, a friend, and now a thriving small business founder, Laura has channelled her sentimental soul into something truly special for families across London.

And as she says with a smile: “If you ever fancy a chat – or have a quirky scan idea – I’m always here.”
