Book of the week: A Year in Impressionism

Impressionism is by far my favourite art genre and I already own a considerable amount of books about this fascinating artistic movement. A new book A Year in Impressionism, published in hardback by Prestel in October, is a great addition to my personal library and would make a great gift to any art lover.

A Year in Impressionism  is the perfect gift for anyone interested in Impressionism and art in general, because it is an extensive collection of 365 pictures and gathers the best of the genre’s masterpieces from around the world. Covering a wide range of artists and countries associated with the movement, such as Renoir, Gauguin, Degas, Cezanne, Monet, and Seurat.

The book features double-page spreads with an Impressionist painting on one side and a blank page on the other, offering space for notes and reminders of significant events. It is not filled with information about the movement itself but just images of the paintings so that every day of the year you can be inspired by a different painter.

Perfect for work, home or studio, this beautiful volume brightens my living room and offers inspiration every day. It is available to buy online from prestel.com or alternatively in all good bookshops.
