Buster Moon and his all-star cast of animal performers prepare to launch a dazzling stage extravaganza in the entertainment capital of the world. There’s just one hitch – he has to find and persuade the world’s most reclusive rock star to join them.

The verdict
London Mums and the Kids Club loved Sing 1 so we were delighted at the news of Sing 2 release. All of our favourite singing and dancing all-stars from Illumination’s Sing return in the definitive feel-good event of the year.
This sequel is cute and funny and does the job for the kids for sure, but adults probably sensed a lack of flowing pace in the story. I would have cut at least 15 to 20 minutes. Luckily the music kept me engaged almost throughout and triggered some karaoke moments from me while watching the newly released DVD.

Bono plays one of the key characters, an ageing rock-star lion, who sings U2’s “Where the Streets Have No Name” at the final gig. Having Bono in this sequel is a hint from the filmmakers wanting to appeal to parents as much as to children.
Taron Edgerton sings well too. He’s a good singer and I already knew that based on his performance as Elton John in Rocketman.
