Kingston makes top 10 for every life stage in new “best places to live” research

The Royal Borough of Kingston has been ranked in the top 10 for every stage of life, according to new research into the best places to live in London published by Experian PropertyCheck.

Experian PropertyCheck analysed the pros and cons of London boroughs, whether residents are single, the parents of young children, a family with teenagers or a couple whose children have left home and Kingston was the only London borough, aside from neighbouring Richmond upon Thames, to be listed in the top 10 for all four categories1.

The data was based on more than 40 factors, from how well children do in local schools, to shops and nightlife, crime rates, air quality and career opportunities.

The riverside borough was ranked second for families with older children, fourth for empty-nesters, fifth for families with young children and 10th for pre-children couples and singles.

“We are delighted that Kingston has ranked so highly in all four categories of this research,” says Ros Morgan Chief Executive of Kingstonfirst. “The borough provides a stunning riverside location and has a rich and varied offering for residents and visitors at every stage of their lives. Attractions include: excellent shops, bars, restaurants and entertainment, a thriving arts scene and a charming history and heritage, making it ideal for young singles as well as pre and post children couples and, particularly, families.”

The historic town of Kingston is situated on the picturesque River Thames just 12 miles from central London and a 25-minute train ride from Waterloo. Kingston comprises a colourful blend of unique independent shops, street markets and a wide selection of cafes, bars and restaurants. It also offers a rich history, thriving arts scene, great nightlife and stunning riverside location. www.kingstonfirst.co.uk
