Pumpkins, Paint, and Spook-tacular Fun: Richmond’s Halloween Extravaganza!

Calling all pumpkin enthusiasts and Halloween lovers! Richmond is about to get a whole lot spookier with the return of the Be Spooky free Pumpkin Patch, hosted by Be Richmond BID. Mark your calendars for Saturday 26th October, when Whittaker Avenue will be transformed into a Halloween wonderland from 10am to 4pm. Get ready for Richmond’s Halloween Extravaganza!

Whether you’re a seasoned pumpkin carver or just trying your hand at it for the first time, this event has something for everyone. Pick out your perfect pumpkin and let your imagination run wild as you carve it into a terrifying (or maybe just cute!) design. Did you know that carving pumpkins is a tradition that dates back to the 19th century? Originally, people in the UK carved turnips, but pumpkins became the go-to choice after the tradition hopped over from America—partly because they’re much easier to carve! Last year alone, Brits carved out an estimated 10 million pumpkins for Halloween.

Carve, Paint, and Snap Your Creations

But the fun doesn’t stop at pumpkins! Fancy a ghostly makeover? There will be professional face painters on hand to transform you into anything from a ghoulish ghost to a spine-chilling skeleton. Perfect for kids, teens, and even the grown-ups who want to get in on the spooky fun. And let’s be honest, what’s Halloween without a few selfies? Make sure to snap some eerie pics of your masterpieces and share them with the world—you never know, your pumpkin might just go viral!

Anna Bromley, Marketing Manager at Be Richmond BID, says, “This is one of our absolute favourite events of the year. It’s all about bringing the Richmond community together for a day of creativity, fun, and loads of Halloween spirit. We’re so excited to see what spooky designs everyone comes up with this year!”
