Half-term family activities: Carriage rides at Bushy Park

Rarer the Pandas the Operation Centaur Shire horses, Heath and Nobby, will be returning to Bushy Park to offer carriage rides for Easter weekend.

These traditional shire horse carriage rides are a popular seasonal treat for park visitors and usually happen over the summer and around Christmas but they are back for Easter this year with a  limited number of rides available over the four day holiday from Friday 15 to Monday 18 April 2022.

These work horses were common in the mid-1800s as a means of transporting ale from breweries to pubs, but are nowadays mainly used for forestry work and leisure riding. They are big gentle creatures with an easy-going temperament and are looking forward to welcoming people on board from Holly Lodge in Richmond Park to Bushy Park.

Tickets available from here.
