Finally, Spring has arrived and with it the sunshine and lovely days to look ahead and to also finally eat in restaurants. Although we are still not able to dine indoor, across London there are a lot of terraces organise to cater for outdoor dining experiences. The Hard Rock Cafe’ at Piccadilly Circus has laid tables overlooking the Eros statue on one side and the West End on the other side, so that you feel at the centre of the action while eating.
This week I had the pleasure of being invited for lunch to this newly opened restaurant for the first time, although I had visited the original Hard Rock restaurant near Hyde Park many times before. I have always had very good experiences so I was looking forward to comparing the two.
Monica and I were greeted by lovely staff members who sat us outside on the terrace and gave us a couple of menus. One was the classic Hard Rock Cafe’ set menu (for £15), a kids’ food selection (mainly smaller portions of classic dishes) and the other one a-la-carte Spring offering.
The classic dishes of Hard Rock cafes around the world include the classic cheeseburger with fries, which was my choice for the day. The burger was the same size and taste as I previously had during other occasions, I visited the first HRcafe’ in London in these last years and the chips tasted homemade, just like a refined palate would expect.
Monica and I shared two starters: the crispy onion rings and nachos with cheese and sauces. They were both mouth-watering.
For her main Monica choose a cowboy rib eye steak from the Spring menu which she loved and managed to finish it all.
We enjoyed the meals with a choice of lovely fruity Sangria cocktails that refreshed the whole dining experience and atmosphere.
I would highly recommend the Hard Rock cafe’ restaurant at Piccadilly Circus to anyone just passing by in the West End, going for shopping around the corner.
