In January I attended the Product of the Year Awards night in London which celebrates the most innovative products on the household market. Like every year, it is a lush night out at the liberty-style Sheraton Grand on Park Lane and this year I wore a Charleston dress and hair piece to blend in nicely.
To entertain us we had the brilliant host and comedian Patrick Kielty as well as Disco Queen extraordinaire Sophie Ellis-Bextor. I enjoyed chatting with my pal Mirka Moore of All Baby Advice who is with me on the judging panel.
In September every year we attend Jury Day at the Institute of Directors where we are asked to test and select a variety of household products on their innovation factor before more than 10,000 UK consumers get to vote for their favourite ranges.

An interesting development in 2020 is that brands are innovating even more eco-friendly products with ethical sourcing and responsible packaging key factors.
