Tucked away on Brook Street in Mayfair, London, lies a unique connection between two musical legends separated by time but united in influence: George Frideric Handel and Jimi Hendrix. These historic residences, now Handel Hendrix House, are hosting a magical Christmas celebration from 21st November to 22nd December 2024, and it’s a festive feast for the senses that no music lover or history enthusiast should miss.
I had the honour of attending the exclusive supporters’ launch party, and let me tell you, it was the first time this year that I felt properly festive. From Handel’s Georgian elegance to Hendrix’s swinging sixties vibe, the house is a treasure trove of Yuletide charm. This is no ordinary museum where you simply wander through rooms observing displays. The unique charm of the Handel Hendrix House lies in its immersive, interactive activities that transport you into two distinct eras, allowing you to experience the spirit and creativity of both legendary musicians.
