Tips to make Easter Egg-stra special for your family by decorating eggs with funky patterns

Make Easter Egg-stra special for your family by decorating eggs with funky patterns and personalised designs using these top tips from Henna artist Farhana Ali.

Here are Farhana Ali 5 tips of How To Pimp Your Easter Egg:

1) Sketch out your design on paper first before using an edible pen to mark your design onto your egg. Edible pens can be found in all good craft and cook shops. Once you’ve got your outline then you can start icing.

2) Use a small icing bag with a fine tip to draw your design. The angle of the icing bag must be about 45 degrees, and 2 mm away from the egg to control the flow. The consistency should be similar to that of clotted cream. Be careful not to make it too runny or your designs will merge.

3) On white chocolate eggs use dark colour icing, such as browns, reds and orange for mouth watering, eye-catching results. Accessorise by using cake decorations, such as edible flowers, butterflies or even flakes to jazz up your egg. These can be attached by using a little amount of icing.

4) Add sparkle to your eggs by sprinkling edible glitter, which can be found in beautiful bright colours. Use small stencils and a paint brush to apply icing to create a pattern or design before a liberal sprinkling of glitter on top.

5) Make your Easter egg hunt extra special with an egg designed for each member of your family. Use a large one for daddy, medium size for mummy, and small eggs for brothers and sisters. Dress by coating with different colour icing and sprinkles to create outfits and features of the family
Last but not least enjoy eating your funky Easter egg…..
