Family Day Returns to Chinatown – Sunday 19 July 2015

Sunday 19th July 2015 will mark the return of London’s most exciting and completely free family event as Family Day returns to Chinatown for the second time!

The biggest celebrations outside of Chinese New Year, the celebrations will see a range of performances and activities for kids and make sure you come hungry as Chinatown’s famous restaurants will be offering special dishes and menus!

The stages, one on Gerrard Street and one on Wardour Street, will host an exciting programme of performances from 12-5pm, including traditional Japanese drumming, family magic shows, martial arts performances and an Indonesian orchestra.

Kids will also have the chance to take part in a treasure hunt as well as calligraphy, mask making and origami lessons! There will also be a world famous Lion Dance display as well as traditional stilt walkers, pot jugglers and goodie bags.

And don’t forget to pop into one many restaurants in Chinatown offering special Family Day dishes and activities. There are over 100 restaurants in Chinatown with over 17 cuisines to choose from including Cantonese, Malaysian, Japanese and Szechwan, so you will be spoilt for choice!
