On Monday 19th October 2026 London Mums Magazine was invited to review Clayface, a dark DC horror film. Horror is NOT my genre, but I went to watch Clayface because it was my friend’s birthday, and let me tell you… I was NOT ready!

This movie had me screaming and jumping out of my seat, and my scream was so loud it made the neighbours jump too!  I came to celebrate a birthday, not fight for my life in the cinema!

Clayface movie

Clayface is a dark DC horror film that explores the terrifying transformation of a man whose desire to reclaim his life ultimately turns him into something monstrous.

The story follows Matt Hagen, an aspiring Hollywood actor whose life takes a devastating turn after a brutal incident leaves him desperate to restore his appearance and career. In search of a solution, he becomes involved in an experimental medical treatment that leads to a horrifying transformation.

As Matt begins to discover the disturbing possibilities of his new condition, his struggle to regain control of his life becomes increasingly dangerous. What starts as a chance to repair his past soon raises unsettling questions about identity, humanity and the true cost of changing yourself.

Blending psychological suspense, body horror and elements of the DC universe, Clayface offers a different take on the traditional comic-book movie. Rather than focusing on superheroes, it explores the making of a monster and the emotional struggles behind his transformation.

With its unsettling atmosphere and themes of fame, appearance and identity, the film promises a chilling look at how far someone might go to become the person they once were.

London Mums’ rating

This movie was more jump scares than actual horror, with SO much gore! We at London Mums Magazine gave it a 3/5.
