Whether you are an ABBA super fan or not, ABBA: SUPER TROUPERS THE EXHIBITION at the O2 London is a great musical journey into the ‘70s and ‘80s which defined the phenomenon that is ABBA. Through original and repro-fashion items, albums, music fans can discover the story of the band, their songs and historical facts of the years when Swedish pop sensation ABBA (Agnetha Fältskog, Björn Ulvaeus, Benny Andersson, and Anni-Frid (“Frida”) Lyngstad) became a world sensation and the world’s chart-topping band we know today. This brand new immersive exhibition brings to life each band member’s history and displays their personal items, in a visitor experience that charts their music, lyrics, creative process and influence as one of the most iconic pop bands of the modern age.
It is a very insightful view into the history of disco music through vintage photographs, home videos, and a wealth of new highlights including artefacts not previously displayed in the UK. It took me around 90 minutes to go through all descriptions, videos but I did not manage to listen to all audio tracks and watch all videos in full. If you are a super fan, you will certainly be spending half day there.
I particularly loved seeing the famous disco outfits. I wish there had been more on display.
Ideally you should visit the exhibition and then go straight to the Mamma Mia! The Party which is located next door to this exhibition.
