With 47k+ bookings logged on eventbrite and 150 shows in 2024, London Mums will be sending in a team of die-hard disco Divas to find out what all the fuss is about. In case you can’t make it, there’s always 24 September at Indigo at the O2 Arena.

Amazingly, Discos for Grown-ups MD Simon Stanford, started it as a hobby in lockdown, offering discos streamed into your own living room. Certainly, during 2019-20, dancing in my bedroom saved me from going insane, with my headphones on max. My flatmate sweetly bought a disco ball and my husband a phone-holder for attaching to my arm. I sweated it out many an evening, till all the stress had burned off. I have fond memories of my daughter coming in late and asking so politely that I calm it down a bit because I was making the 1st floor of our Victorian cottage shudder and she couldn’t get to sleep.
ADVANTAGES OF AGE AWARD WINNER 2023

Hi! I have a ‘portfolio’ lifestyle, jumping between mum, journalist, curator of my own museum, chauffeur, French tutor and carer. I love music, dance, theatre and dancing in the evenings, and helping others to enjoy life. I’ve been through the mill healthwise, along with my family, and am grateful for every day.
