Congratulations to All London Marathon Participants
A heartfelt congratulations to every single person who entered, ran, attempted, or completed the London Marathon. Whether you crossed the finish line or not, taking on a challenge of this magnitude is an achievement in itself. The courage it takes to step up to the start line, the months of preparation, and the personal hurdles overcome along the way are all worth celebrating.
To those who finished—what an incredible milestone. Your determination, resilience, and sheer grit have carried you across one of the world’s most iconic marathon routes. Whether it was your first or your fifteenth, every finish line is a triumph.
To those who attempted but couldn’t finish, whether due to injury, illness, or unforeseen challenges—please know that your effort is just as inspiring. Starting the race, showing up with heart and hope, and pushing through until your body told you to stop, is a testament to your strength. The marathon is as much about bravery as it is about endurance, and you showed both in abundance.
Even if your journey was cut short, the physical and mental benefits of your training remain. You’ve already made significant investments in your health by getting out there, moving your body, and challenging your limits. Exercise, at any level, brings profound value—not just in reaching goals, but in building long-term habits that support wellbeing, boost mood, and reduce stress.
Marathon training—and even the attempt—is not a failure if you don’t finish. It’s a powerful reminder of what you’re capable of. Injury or illness may temporarily pause your journey, but they don’t define your efforts. Recovery is also part of the athletic journey, and taking care of your body is just as important as pushing it.
To those inspired by watching others: let this be your sign to lace up your trainers, walk a little more, run if you can, and find your own version of movement. Every step matters.
So to all runners—whether you soared, stumbled, or had to stop—thank you. Thank you for showing what determination looks like. Thank you for reminding us of the beauty in trying. You are all part of something extraordinary, and you should be deeply proud. I am proud of you ?
Next year I’ll do a piece on preparing mentally for the race – until then – keep going!
