300 Metres of joy: London gets ready to make Tiramisù history

Some events are nice to attend… and then there are the ones you just know people will still be talking about years later. And this spring, London is about to host one of the sweetest, most joyful (and slightly bonkers) community celebrations we’ve seen in years: The Longest Tiramisù in the World – a Guinness World Record attempt that is as much about people as it is about pudding.

As proud media partners, London Mums Magazine had the honour of joining the official presentations of this incredible initiative – from the grandeur of Montecitorio, home of the Italian Parliament, all the way to the iconic Palace of Westminster. Yes, this tiramisù journey is already bridging Italy and the UK in the most delicious way possible.

A “mascarpone gang” with a mission

What struck us most during these presentations was the spirit behind the project. This isn’t just about breaking a record – it’s about building a community. A joyful, slightly chaotic, wonderfully passionate “gang of mascarpone” bringing together chefs, artists, students, families and dreamers.

At the heart of it all is Mirko Ricci, founder of Complitaly TV, whose vision has turned into an international movement. And as one Guinness World Records spokesperson wisely said: records are often just an excuse to bring people together.

And honestly? We’re here for that.

From Roman sparkle to London energy

The London launch at Westminster had a real buzz – the room was full of energy, excitement and that unmistakable feeling that something special is about to happen:  a vibrant mix of personalities representing the Italian community in the UK and beyond. From content creators to entrepreneurs, from chefs to young talents, it felt like a celebration of identity, culture and connection.

And the best part? This is only the beginning.

What’s happening (and why you should care!)

25–26 April 2026

Chelsea Old Town Hall, London

The mission: to create a 300-metre-long tiramisù and officially beat the Guinness World Record.

But this is bigger than dessert.

Every slice sold will support Esharelife Foundation, helping vulnerable communities through education and essential resources. So yes – this is one of those rare occasions where eating cake genuinely makes you a better person.

Expect:

Live music and performances

Family-friendly activities

Markets and Italian flair

Thousands of smiling faces

And a LOT of tiramisù

And yes – we fully intend to eat it all after the official measurement.

Meet the baking genius

Adding serious star power (and precision) is Giuseppe Dell’Anno, winner of The Great British Bake Off, whose engineering mind meets pastry perfection. If you haven’t yet, go and read our interview with him – where he explains why engineering and baking are not so different after all. Fascinating and deliciously nerdy.

Here’s my interview in Italian published by Complitaly TV.

More than a record – a shared experience

This event is about joy. About families. About showing our children that community matters. About Italians and Brits coming together not just for a challenge, but for something meaningful, generous and fun.

And let’s be honest – when was the last time you queued happily for a 300-metre dessert?

CALL TO ACTION: BOOK YOUR SLICE NOW

Here’s the thing: tiramisù is not infinite.

There are only so many metres. Only so many slices. And we fully expect them to disappear fast.
