There is no manual for being a parent. Even if you’re fortunate enough to have had amazing parents yourself who are willing to help you out whenever possible, you are still alone in this game, and it happens to be a never-ending game full of ups and downs, trials, and tribulations. Obviously, we become a parent and love our children unconditionally, but that doesn’t belay the fact that it can take a serious toll on your own life. And, if you want to ensure that you are not only around for your kids as they grow but have plenty of energy to not merely exist with them but live life with them, it pays dividends to take a step back and look at your own health. If you’re finding that you struggle to maintain energy levels or are becoming stressed out far too easily and at every minor indiscretion, Perhaps it’s time to prioritise your own needs a bit more for some time. This post is taking a look at the very sorts of things that any parent can partake in to help them de-stress, increase energy levels, and maintain a much healthier outlook on life, even when you have multiple little screaming bundles of joy nipping at your heels!
Happy Valentine’s Day – The playlist

Valentine’s Day doesn’t need to be just for couples in love. I think of it as an opportunity to tell people I love that I DO love them and appreciate them for being in my life and loving me. This includes neighbours, people in my community, people I work with, my friends and family. It’s such a small world and we need to take care of each other. One of my favourite things I learnt from a YouTube video was how small things can make someone day. In this particular video, a girl bought 12 roses and handed them out to strangers on her way home to people of all ages and backgrounds. I did it and my favourite comment was “I feel like I’ve just been knighted”. Everyone loved it and felt special – so did I.
Simple, thoughtful, with love. Happy Valentines Day.

New data released by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) paints a sobering picture of alcohol-related harm in the UK. In 2023, 10,473 deaths were directly linked to alcohol-specific causes the highest number ever recorded. While the overall alcohol deaths rate slightly decreased to 15.9 per 100,000 people, regional disparities and demographic vulnerabilities highlight an urgent need for awareness and intervention, particularly for families grappling with addiction.
